I have started running – yes running you herd me  – I’m trying to loose weight for a Brazilin Jujitsu competition and I thought I give running a go.
I did previously try to run in a past life but I my calf’s would always get really tight and my feet tingly.   So I kind of ignored this wonderful and painful type of exercise until now. ..

How did it start ? Hove Park, in Brighton. My son goes to school in hove park so on Monday evening in the dark (as I was a bit embarrassed) I tried running a quarter of the park, then the following week I did an half and then a whole.
Then with one on the mums of the school after drop of I did 4k, it nearly killed me but I was happy. So I invested in some running shorts (sports direct some running socks to help with circulation) and boom I’m running 5k and I bloody love it. My next step is Park Run at hove park.

I am now running 2-3 times a week, normally 5k, my body seams to like that distance. I’m desperately trying to beat my PB of 27.40 which I did on holiday.
So if you see me in Brighton or Hove running around come and join me for a couple of Kilometres!

So here a re a few tips I’m using to help my running journey

1 Warm up, its really to a warm the muscles up, with mobilisation and light stretching, focusing of calf’s, knee and hips , don't forget back n neck

2 Start slow don't try n race a marathon baby steps run small distances. Increase the distance slowly but try to run regularly. With always time for your body to recover.

3 Use an app like RunKeeper or Strava – there great for keeping track of how long and how far your running. And great for giving your self goals!

4 Stretch and cool down after, find a nice spot to stretch those legs, try to hold each stretch for at least 45 seconds

5 Run regularly. It really helps it improves your steamier confidence, three times a week is perfect, so you have time to recover.

6 Book an appointment for a sports massage in Hove and Brighton. The massage will help with any tight muscles or little muscles strains and stretch you out for your next run!

just to remind you my website has changed to sportsmassagehove.co.uk

Ps I made the weight for bjj tournament but my performance was not great but I had fun and learnt lots!
